About this deal

Abby has made every effort to forget her past and reinvent herself since leaving her hometown to attend college, and in Beautiful Disaster, she has succeeded. Why did you give your female main character the trauma of being sexually abused if you were going to have Garret manipulate her into kissing him while she is thinking "Just do it, you don't even have to like it" the whole time? Sometimes it’s easier to talk about things with a person that you don’t have any interest in talking long-term and over the course of spending time together while studying and a few impromptu hangout moments. They get to know the other’s mannerism and habits and end up talking a good bit turning this tutoring thing into dare they say a friendship. Hannah Wells is a 20 years old girl who's not very popular. She has some good friends and a supporting, loving family. Not many of her friends know about what happened to her five years ago. Despite her past, Hannah is not a broken girl. She wants to be ‘normal’, she has people in her life who care deeply for her, she has dreams. In most of the areas she’s a confident girl, but when it comes to relationships, sex and seduction she’s not the most experienced girl. Too bad since she has a crush on one of the football players.

And him and Hannah together. Literally soo cute, and I LOVE HANNAH SO SO MUCH. She went through so much but is still marching through life as the queen she is.I liked Hannah but there were some things she said throughout the book which felt a little weird and insensitive. And before you say that I take things too seriously, all I would like to say is that internalized misogyny exists and I can't help but pointing it out. Every single interaction between Hannah and Garrett was perfection. They slowly form a friendship and fall into so much more. I loved the way their relationship developed almost by accident. Neither of them meant for it to happen. They just began hanging out, spending time together, and one thing naturally led to another. (Side note: after reading about them watching Breaking Bad together, I kinda want to watch the show too!)

Update November 5th Adding warnings for my friends who expect not only faithful hero but 0% OW activity. Look my warnings at the end of my original review. This is important because this is a book that I recommend all the time to readers who like me hate cheating My palms go clammy as I stare at his handsome profile. He’s new to Briar this year, but I’m not sure which college he transferred from, and although he wasted no time becoming the star wide receiver on the football team, he’s not like the other athletes at this school. He doesn’t strut through the quad with one of those I’m-God’s-gift-to-the-world smirks or show up with a new girl on his arm every day. I’ve seen him laugh and joke with his teammates, but he gives off an intelligent, intense vibe that makes me think there are hidden depths to him. Which just makes me all the more desperate to get to know him. The writing was flawless and engaging and the story was told in such a way that will make you be invested in this story from the start.

Goodreads Summary:

Fortunately, Piper’s younger sister comes along, and after a few days of crying, the two of them decide to renovate their father’s tavern. Additionally, she runs across the hot and cantankerous captain there, who isn’t falling for Piper’s charm. A few weeks ago I was in dire need of a funny and sexy read and so I went to my adorable Gansey and asked her for a book recommendation! I adored the fake dating element, especially because it starts out as her needing it to make another guy notice her, which Garrett is fine with in the beginning because he has his own reasons for needing Hannah. After their midterm exam paper in ethics most of the class made a C or worse except for Hannah who made an A, and it’s because of that grade that has caught the attention of Garrett who needs tutoring to do better on the makeup exam that the teacher is giving to try to help the majority of the class.
